Hi everyone ❤️
Now, where do I start…
In April this year, our world changed when my uncle, my   Cousin Naomi’s dad was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
As a family, dementia is something we had never experienced before, and I don’t think any of us were prepared for the impact that diagnosis would have. We have been absolutely rocked to the core.
Our family means absolutely everything to us, so watching someone we love so dearly begin to change, particularly in social situations, is incredibly difficult and heartbreaking.
My uncle is one of the funniest, most loving and kind-hearted people you could ever meet. He’s a devoted husband and dad, has the driest sense of humour, and the best laugh. Seeing the effects of FTD take away parts of the person we know and love is something that is incredibly hard to put into words.
Naomi is not only my cousin, she is my best friend, and watching her come to terms with her dad’s diagnosis has been incredibly difficult. The diagnosis is still very raw for her, and she has found it too difficult to sit down and put her feelings into words. So, I’m writing this on behalf of us both.
In September, Naomi and I will be walking 30 miles to raise money for dementia. ❤️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️
We’re doing this for her dad, my uncle, for our family, and for all the other families who are facing the devastating reality of dementia.
We want to help raise awareness and support the incredible work that provides specialist medical care, emotional support and practical help for people living with dementia and the families around them.
We appreciate that times are difficult for everyone, and we completely understand that not everyone is in a position to donate. But if you are able to spare even a small amount, it would mean the absolute world to us. ❤️
